  • Date Night: Wheel Throwing Workshop

    Get creative and get your hands dirty…together! Whether you’re on a first date, celebrating an anniversary, treating Mum and Dad to a night out. Or maybe you’re surprising a friend, it will be a night to remember. During this 2 hour pottery wheel throwing workshop you will learn and practice the basics of using the potter’s wheel with Diana Connell. What you will learn: *Clay preparation *Clay centring *Making a cylinder *Making a bowl or cup *A range of decorative techniques. Diana will demonstrate the techniques you need to achieve making your pots, and you will then have the opportunity to practice these making methods. During the end of the workshop you will have the chance to decorate your pieces with coloured slips and a variety of decoration techniques. Your creations will remain at the studio to dry and for kiln firing. They will be posted to you when the drying and firing process is complete, roughly 3 weeks. Your fee covers: *Studio access, *Tools & equipment, *Tuition, All materials and kiln firing of 2 finished pots. Nibbles and a drink. (BYO alcohol) The class is limited to 2 participant so that plenty of time is available for your learning and practising experience. This class is ideal for couples with zero experience who want to try the wheel and have a fun, relaxing evening. What is date night without delicious nibbles and a glass of alcohol! (Please let me know any dietary requirements and alcohol preference) Staying safe and socially distanced during this challenging time is of utmost importance to us. Our studio is perfect to ensure we meet the guidelines of each person having 4sqm. Classes are strictly limited to 2 people. Equipment is disinfected between each class. Please note: ticket prices are $195 per couple. Included: Your final item (please note, ticket price includes glazing and firing of ONE finished piece per person.
